Il existe un vieil adage qui dit: "il suffit qu'un imbécile affirme quelque-chose pour que le contraire se produise dans l'heure".

Je ne sais pas pourquoi, mais il y a quelques temps, je m'interrogeais sur la tendance actuelle à vouloir mettre du coloriage par ordinateur un peu partout et pour tout prétexte, d'une manière parfois étouffante pour d'autres techniques plus traditionnelles. Mon impression était que le crayon (et d'autres techniques du même acabit) se voyaient progressivement ghettoisées, reléguées au seul public d'amateurs avertis.

Et puis, j'ai découvert - et là, je dois avouer que ce que j'ai vu dans se galerie m'a cloué le bec. Allez-donc jeter un oeil sur sa "Forêt Enchantée" ([link]). Il appelle ça modestement un "croquis". Moi, je pense qu'il n'y a qu'un seul terme pour qualifier pareil travail: chef-d'oeuvre. Et non content d'être techniquement impeccable, c'est aussi amusant, original, inoubliable: comment chasser aisément de son esprit le regard ahuri du chevalier ou la trogne de l'arbre fumeur de pipe de l'arrière-plan ? Amis du crayon, réjouissez-vous, car voilà un nouveau prophète !

Sinon, le Kiriban 1111 a été remporté par - encore un artiste de grande qualité. Sa requête est difficile, mais je ne recule pas devant la difficulté ! Et le Kiriban 999 pour est en bonne voie d'achèvement. Le prochain Kiriban est cette fois fixé à 2222 - vous avez donc encore pas mal de temps devant vous !

Quoi d'autre ? Ah, oui, une petite annonce ! (*ton sérieux ON")

Recherche artistes dessinateurs prêts à contribuer à projet de MMORPG existant pour amélioration de ses graphismes catastrophiques. Aucun salaire, sinon un peu plus de renom et l'impression d'avoir participé à quelque-chose de grand, voire de cosmique.

Once again, you will miss all that French non-sense of mine. Which is good - there is nothing important in there, except my usual rants against the Life, the World and Everything. But there are several "important" (well, non-useless would better fit in this case) informations hidden here and there in the French text, so here they are, this time clothed in a shiny English dress.

First, the WWA (What a Wonderful Artist) of the week is definitely . Just have a look at his vision of an enchanted forest ([link]) and see what a talented artist can do with a simple pencil. Even if he modestly calls it a "sketch", I think there is only one accurate word for that kind of work: masterpiece.

Next, the Kiribans. won the 1111th one, and threw me a challenging task for it. I like challenging challenges . The 999th one is under way and should get completed during the next week. The next kiriban is set at 2222, so you still have some time left before it happens.

Finally, a Call for Help. There's a free MMORPG project called "Crossfire" suffering of simply deeply awful graphics. There's nothing to win contributing to it, except consideration of the community (and your name in the list of contributors) - but hey, being the first in more than ten years to be able to give decent graphics to that game would already be an achievement you could be very proud of ! .
